Stephen Olumuyiwa Bola has vast experience in financial services spanning 32 years in three top Nigerian/International banks-UBA Plc, Ecobank Nigeria Plc and First Bank of Nigeria Limited. He holds HND and PGD in Banking and Finance from Lagos State Polytechnic and Delta State University respectively. He also holds MBA in Marketing and Business Strategy from Federal University of Technology, Akure.
Stephen started his banking career in 1983 at UBA Plc (Abeokuta Branch) where he worked in all the departments. He was later transferred in 1987 to Iwo Road, Ibadan Branch where he further engaged in branch banking operations. He made a career move to Ecobank Nigeria Plc between January 1991 and July 2004 where he worked in various capacities as Head Teller, Operations Officer, Branch Manager, Controls Officer, Risk Manager as well as Zonal Risk Manager.
He joined First Bank of Nigeria Limited as a Credit Analyst in Credit Analysis & Processing Department (CAP) on Deputy Manager grade in November 2004. He became a Credit Officer in March 2008 engaging in risk assessment of credit applications from South Directorate. He was elevated to a Unit Head in CAP covering Corporate Banking Group, South in October 2010. With usual rotation of portfolio in CAP, he became Head of Corporate Banking Group, West in January 2012, moved to Institutional Banking Group in September 2012 and ultimately to CAP Retail Team 1 (comprising North, South East and South South) in April 2015. He is a trainer and regular representative of the department at business re-engineering, transformation and other process improvement initiatives. Until he left the services of the bank on January 31, 2016, he was a Risk Senior Credit Officer (RSCO4) and a member of Internal Faculty of FirstAcademy,
He is a Certified Risk Analyst of the International Academy of Financial Management. He is awaiting induction as a Chartered Banker by the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria having completed the examinations in April 2015. He is seasoned banker and has broad training in and exposure to Credit Risk Management techniques.
